A new rumor from a very credible source!

Hi, this is Dave from Motel and I'm here
0:02
to talk to you about a new V8. And I'm
0:04
not talking about the rumored big V8 for
0:06
the big trucks that people have been
0:08
talking about in various displacements
0:10
up to a whopping 426 cubic in. Nope, not
0:14
talking about that one. Talking about a
0:16
smaller one, smaller than any modern
0:20
Chrysler V8, including the next
0:22
generation 4.7 that some of you may
0:24
remember. uh talking about something
0:27
that's smaller than any V8 Chrysler has
0:30
made since 1956.
0:33
How about that? So, uh I've been told
0:36
that they're working on a Hemi V8, but
0:39
I've also been told about the small V8,
0:41
might not be a Hemi, might be more
0:42
related to the GME or Hurricane series.
0:46
Uh hard to know which one it is right
0:48
now. They might be working on two V8s.
0:50
That would explain a lot, but uh it
0:53
would be a very modern engine. We're not
0:56
talking about something with wedge heads
0:57
or anything like that. We're talking
0:59
about something very modern, partly
1:01
because it would need some serious cam
1:04
timing systems. Uh because this might be
1:07
an engine to be used instead of the
1:10
Pentastar V6 or a Hurricane. This might
1:14
be an engine that goes along with the
1:16
range extended electric vehicles, the
1:18
Reeves. And they're planning that for
1:20
the Ram 1500. They're planning that for
1:23
the uh wagon ear. They might even use a
1:26
Reeve in uh the Ram 2500 and 3500 at
1:31
some point because it's nice to have the
1:34
strength of an electric motor from the
1:35
very start if you're going to be pulling
1:37
a heavy load and stuff like that. And
1:40
it's also nice to avoid having the kind
1:42
of gas mileage that you get in a Ram
1:44
2500 or Ram 3500 if you're using it in
1:48
commercial use. So this is where you
1:51
could see a gasoline engine acting as a
1:54
generator to power an electric motor.
1:58
And that is one of the positions that
2:01
I've heard via the rumor mill that this
2:04
new V8 is being slotted for. So we'll
2:06
find out soon. But a small V8 would also
2:09
be really nice as a feature bragging
2:12
rights for the new midsize pickup truck
2:15
that's coming in at around $40,000ish.
2:20
So, we'll find out soon. This is what we
2:22
know. There is a chance that it will be
2:24
branded a Hemi regardless of uh the head
2:27
design. If it's even a semihemi, you can
2:30
call it a Hemi. I mean, Hemi is a
2:32
trademark at this point more than a
2:34
description of the heads. So, uh, will
2:37
it be a four valves per cylinder or the
2:39
Hemi's two valves per cylinder? Will it
2:41
be a push rod? We don't know, but we
2:44
will find out. I would assume that
2:46
they'd want it to run Miller cycle if
2:48
it's going to be used as a generator,
2:49
but again, don't know. The important
2:52
thing is that it have that torque at low
2:54
revs. And I suspect that they'll be
2:57
wanting to run it without a
2:58
turbocharger.

Well, for more, see our story at
3:01
stellpower.com.
3:03
And keep an eye out for more stealth
3:05
power coverage of this new V8. We do
3:08
expect to learn more very soon about one
3:11
or both of these possible new engines.
